UMO Falls 3-1 at Southern Wesleyan Despite Shot Advantage

CENTRAL, S.C. – The Mount Olive women's soccer team outshot Southern Wesleyan 17-7 but dropped a 3-1 road match Saturday afternoon.

The Trojans fell to 2-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Warriors improved to 3-4-1, 3-2-1 in league action.

Southern Wesleyan's keeper tallied six saves, compared to just two for Mount Olive. Anais Coyne and Mckenchnie Mazey split time in goal, each playing 45 minutes.


Of UMO's 17 shots, seven were on target. Charlotte Benson led with five attempts, including three on goal. Addison Dangler added three shots, two on frame, while Natalia Kaminski and Jada Turner each placed one on goal.


The Trojans return to action Tuesday at Ferrum with a 6 p.m. kickoff against the Panthers.
