Trojans Place Third at Sand Shark Invitational Behind Three Top-20 Finishes

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – After three weeks off, the University of Mount Olive men's cross country team returned to action at the Sand Shark Invitational hosted by USC Beaufort on Saturday.

The Trojans finished third overall, trailing only Bethune-Cookman and Southeastern University.

Three runners placed in the top 20, led by Artem Meltsaiev in 12th (26:13.3), followed by Josh Hendren in 17th (26:19.9) and Leo Powell in 19th (26:27.1). Rounding out the lineup were Titus Tanui (31st, 26:53.1), Spencer Rundell (44th, 27:27.0), Cullen Pfanmiller (47th, 27:34.7), Trevor Greenier (54th, 28:04.3), Benjamin Bailey (74th, 29:16.1), and Devon Coughlin (98th, 31:27.1).

Mount Olive next competes at the Conference Carolinas Championship on October 24 in Kernersville, N.C.
