GREENVILLE, S.C. (Jan. 24) – Following an appearance in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament last season, the University of Mount Olive women's tennis team was chosen sixth in the preseason Conference Carolinas poll on Friday.
In 2024, Mount Olive posted an 8-11 overall record with a 5-4 mark in conference play. The Trojans closed the year by winning three of their final five league matches before battling to a 4-1 loss in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Championship. UMO returns a majority of its lineup from last season while welcoming four newcomers under first-year head coach Julieta Boerr.

Erskine, the defending tournament and co-regular season champions, was selected as the preseason favorite with seven first-place votes. Lees-McRae received five first-place nods after claiming a co-regular season crown in 2024, which placed the Bobcats second in the poll. Belmont Abbey was slotted third overall, while Barton (one first-place vote) and Young Harris rounded out the top five.
The 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship is scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 24-Sunday, April 27 at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina.
The Trojans begin the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 1, when they travel to face Division I, Campbell at 11 a.m.
