MOUNT OLIVE (Sept. 18) – After scoring four times in the initial 29 minutes of the first half, the Trojans rolled past Shaw by a final score of 5-0 in non-conference action at Amon Field on Wednesday night.
With the win, the University of Mount Olive women's soccer program continues to showcase strong offensive performances and improves to 2-0-1 overall. Through the opening three matches, the Trojans netted 12 goals with six different players, including a duo with a team-leading seven total points. Meanwhile, Shaw drops to 1-3 this season with a 0-3 mark against Southeast Region opponents.

Josephine Palmer forced a turnover and fired a shot into the back of the net over the goalkeeper for her first collegiate goal, 3-0. In the 29th minute, UMO stretched it to a 4-0 margin after junior

In the second half, the Trojans added an insurance goal at the 69:22 mark with a goal from freshman

Senior
Samantha Gildner earned the combined shutout with one save in 75-plus minutes of action. Senior
Cailey Bruni completed the final 14:54 of the match in a home victory on Wednesday.
Mount Olive finished the contest with a 12-6 edge in total shots while each side registered three corner kicks.
The Trojans will travel to face the defending league champions UNC Pembroke on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Conference Carolinas action with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
