MOUNT OLIVE (Feb. 10) – In the Southeast Regional matchup, the University of Mount Olive men's tennis program delivered a 6-1 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday afternoon at the John Neal Walker Tennis Center.
With the win, the Trojans improve to 1-1 this season after playing back-to-back regional opponents in the last two days. Head coach
Jake McCartney earns his first win at the helm of the men's program after being hired in Aug. 2023. Mount Olive improves to 5-1 against Lenoir-Rhyne dating back to 2014. Meanwhile, the Bears drops to 2-1 overall behind a 1-1 mark against Conference Carolinas programs.
Mount Olive claimed the double point after securing wins in the first and second positions on Saturday. Senior

Kristoffer Dalbak registered a 6-1 win over Vadym Rogynskyi and Rufus Plane in the first slot. Sophomore

Adam Ibrahim defeated Zachary Cox and Mattias Selde by a 6-3 margin in the second doubles, while freshman
Lenn Hoffmann and sophomore
Bram Poel suffered a 6-3 loss against Nevio Dux and Connor Donley in the third position.
The Trojans sealed the match victory after earning victories in five of the six singles matches. de Oliveira rallied in the first singles to earn a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 win over Dux before Gruenefeldt fell in straight sets 3-6, 3-6 to Cox in the second slot. In the third position, Dalbak countered with a 6-2, 6-4 victory versus Rogynskyi before Poel captured a 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 comeback win over Plane in the fourth singles. Sophomore
Kabir Chhabria recorded a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 victory versus Raphael Champaud in the fifth position while Ibrahim battled to a 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory in the sixth slot against Donley.
Mount Olive continues non-conference play on Friday, Feb. 16, when they travel to face Augusta with the start time set for 2 p.m.
