LYNCHBURG, Va. (Dec. 6) – A 2024 Indoor National Qualifier, University of Mount Olive sophomore
Ryan Wilson-McCoy hit the NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump, as the Trojans started the 2024-25 campaign at the Liberty Kickoff.
Wilson-McCoy finished second overall in the triple jump with a leap of 14.90 meters to hit the NCAA qualifying standard in Virginia. He also reached the Conference Carolinas mark in the long jump following a distance of 6.56 meters.
Additionally, in the triple jump, junior
Andrew Pender placed eighth overall with a conference standard of 13.97 meters. Freshman
Wonderful Fadipe qualified in the event with a distance of 13.92 meters while
Zacharie Fedelus established a league mark of 13.60 meters. Junior
Brendin Marks also competed in the triple jump and hit the conference standard at 13.57 meters.
In the 400 meters, freshman
Travelius Leach finished fifth overall after crossing the line in 48.97 seconds, which tied for fifth all-time in Mount Olive history. Fellow freshman
Jon Crymes, Jr. qualified in the event with a time of 50.66 seconds.
Fedelus registered a conference standard in the long jump after leaping 6.94 meters to place fifth, the seventh-best mark in program history.
Graduate student
Holden Gerth hit the league qualifying mark in the high jump after clearing 1.95 meters, which ranks sixth all-time at Mount Olive.
Freshman
Jacoby Pevia recorded a Conference Carolinas standard of 7.07 seconds in the 60-meter dash, a top-10 time in the UMO record book.
Junior
Jason Hart qualified in the 200-meter dash following an eight-place finish after crossing the line in 21.78 seconds.
Mount Olive will continue the season-opening week at the JDL Early Bird Invite on Sunday, Dec. 8, hosted in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
