AUGUSTA, Ga. (Oct. 27) – Facing a pair of Southeast Regional opponents on Sunday afternoon, the University of Mount Olive women's volleyball team split two matches with a 3-0 sweep over Georgia College before falling by 3-0 margin to Augusta in non-conference play.
With the split, the Trojans stand at 15-7 this season and have won 10 of their last 11 matches. Mount Olive sits second in the KPI rankings which determines seeding in the Conference Carolinas Tournament and prepares to close the regular season with five league contests.
Against Georgia College (7-14) of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), Mount Olive claimed a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-21, 26-24) after recording 42 kills and 10 service aces on Saturday. Senior
Ashlyn Stone finished with 12 kills on a .333 hitting percentage, adding 11 assists and four digs. Sophomore
Danielle Parker registered six kills and three blocks, while freshman
Olivia Melvin tallied six kills and three digs. Junior
Breanna Tanton guided the offense with 23 assists and four digs.

Kacey Gore led the defensive effort with 11 digs while recording four assists and three aces.
Against Augusta (13-5) of the PBC, the Trojans suffered a 3-0 loss (18-25, 12-25, 16-25) after being held to 21 kills in their second match of the day. Senior
Kate Carter totaled five kills and one block, while Stone finished with four kills, seven assists, one ace, and 14 digs. Tanton directed the offense with an assist/dig double-double behind 11 assists and 13 digs, adding two service aces.
Junior
Caroline Sheaffer registered 13 digs with Stone and Tanton also reaching double-digit digs.
UMO returns to the court on Wednesday, Oct. 30, when it hosts Barton at Kornegay Arena, starting at 6 p.m.
