MOUNT OLIVE (Oct. 17) – Behind two goals in the first half, the University of Mount Olive women's soccer team collected a 2-0 victory over Florida National in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Amon Field.
With the win, the Trojans improve to 4-3-6 overall with a 3-1-4 mark at home this year. Mount Olive prepares for the final stretch of the regular season with three conference matches left, starting this Saturday at Converse. Meanwhile, the Conquistadors drop to 0-6-2 this season after playing their first match in over two weeks.
In the first half, the Trojan defense was called into action in the opening minutes as sophomore

Amanda McLeod, who scored her third goal of the season to take a 1-0 advantage. Mount Olive continued to pressure the net with several shots before finding another goal at the 29:19 mark. Junior
Tianna Hill slotted a shot into the bottom-left corner of the net off an assist from sophomore
Addison Dangler to stretch the lead, 2-0. Just moments later, Dangler nearly extended the advantage after her shot hit the left post before being cleared by the defense. The Trojans took a two-goal lead into the break while boasting an 11-2 shot advantage.
Mount Olive made several changes to the lineup following halftime before continuing to dominate possession. UMO finished with a 12-1 lead in shots over the final 45 minutes while featuring 23 players in the match.

UMO finished with a 12-1 edge in the shots on goal while holding a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Trojans return to Conference Carolinas action on Saturday, Oct. 21, when they travel to face Converse at 2 p.m.
