FLORENCE, S.C. (Sept. 21) – After scoring five unanswered goals on Wednesday afternoon, the Trojans collected a 5-1 victory at Francis Marion in Conference Carolinas play.
With the win, the University of Mount Olive women's soccer team secures its fourth-straight victory and improves to 5-3 this season behind a 3-0 record in conference action. The Trojans have outscored the Patriots 13-2 in their last two meetings. Meanwhile, Francis Marion drops to 1-5-2 overall with an 0-3-1 mark in league play.
The Patriots jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage at the 1:29-mark after a header by freshman Abbey Brosnihan floated over the hands of the goalkeeper. Mount Olive tied the match at 1-1 in the 7th minute after a through ball from senior defender

Emily Hein, who fired the ball into the top-left corner of the net in the 65th minute, 4-1. Mount Olive tallied an insurance goal at the 75:19-mark after Hill scored off a rebound, her team-leading fifth goal of the year, with an assist from senior midfielder

Nicole Solicito claimed the win after recording two saves on seven shots faced in 90 minutes of action.
UMO finished the match with an 18-7 shot advantage, including a 12-3 edge in shots on goal, while also posting a 4-3 lead in corner kicks.
The Trojans return to play on Saturday, Sept. 24, when they travel to Southern Wesleyan for a league match, starting at 11 a.m.
