Men's Lacrosse Cruise Past Hawks of Chowan

MURFREESBORO, North Carolina - The Trojans of the University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team faced off in a Conference Carolinas game and took down Chowan University 20-7 on the road Wednesday. Mount Olive improves to 6-5, 2-1 on the season. 
 
INSIDE THE SCORE 
Mount Olive in a very lopsided game struck first scoring the opening goal at the 14:13 mark as Lucas Shein found the back of the net. Chowan stopped a 4-0 run by UMO with under nine minutes left in the first quarter to score their only goal of the quarter. The Trojans added two more goals and went into the second up 6-1.

The second quarter was the lowest scoring of the match as UMO outscored CU 3-1 and led 9-2 at the half.

The third quarter outscore Mount Olive for the first and only time but still trailed heading into the fourth 12-6.

Mount Olive used the fourth quarter to extend and cruise to the victory adding eight goals to Chowan's one and won 20-7.
 
TROJAN LEADERS
Mount Olive was led by Aidan Lalonde with four goals, one assist and one groundball. Goalkeeper Andrew Avarello collected 10 saves.
 
HAWK LEADERS
Chowan was led by Eric George who collected three goals and and assist and two groundballs.

Mount Olive returns home to take on Lees-McRae for senior day April 9, at 12:00 p.m.
