Box Score Charlotte, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive baseball team took down Queens University in a midweek battle Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte. UMO moves to 22-15.
GAME INFORMATION
Mount Olive shot the opening salvo pushing home the first runs of the game in the second. Matt Stokes and Jack Casbarro plated three runs for the Trojans as the took the lead.
Queens slipped further as UMO scored five more runs over the next inning and a half pushing their advantage to 8-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.
The Royals were able to score twice in the bottom half a trailed 8-2 going to the fifth.
Mount Olive continued to apply the pressure scoring twice more, allowing Queens to score just once, as they secured the 10-3 road win.
TROJAN LEADERS
Casbarro, Stokes, George, and Patierno all had two RBI in the contest. Blake Gipson (4-0) got the win going five complete allowing two runs off five hits and struck out three.
ON DECK
The Trojans return home to take on UNC Pembroke in a three-game series beginning Friday, April 15, at 6 p.m.
