Newberry, S.C. - The University of Mount Olive baseball team dropped a midweek contest to No. 19 Newberry College 5-1 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon in Newberry, S.C. UMO falls to 11-6 overall, while Newberry College improves to 19-3.
GAME INFORMATION
Mount Olive was able to plate the first runs of the contest as Alden Cottle pushed home Jack Casbarro. Newberry was held off the boards until the third when the Wolves tied and then took the lead.
The fourth inning saw three more runs come home for Newberry and those proved to be the final runs as the game was called due to torrential rain in the bottom of the fifth.
TROJAN LEADERS
Cottle led the Trojans scoring the only run. Jaydon Gartner (0-1) was pinned with the loss as he allowed two runs off three hits.

The Mount Olive Trojans return to Scarborough Field as they host a three-game series against Chowan University. First pitch Saturday is set for 12 p.m.
