MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina. - The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team defeated the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College 3-0 in conference action on Friday. This win takes the Trojans to 10-3 overall and 7-1 in conference. 

GAME INFORMATION

The first set saw an early Trojan lead 4-1. The Crusaders find their momentum to tie the set at four-all. Both Conference Carolinas teams went on three-point runs before exchanging point-for-point. UMO took a 14-10 lead over Belmont Abbey. A crucial four-point Trojan run extended their lead to 20-15. UMO closed out set one with the 25-22 win.

The second set saw an early Crusader four-point run to take the 5-3 lead. Later, a five-point Trojan run gave them the 19-13 lead with two aces from Justin Gregory. UMO had a significant lead that the Crusaders could not chip away at as Mount Olive took set two 25-20. 

Set three opened up with lead exchanges to both teams before UMO took the 10-7 lead. Belmont Abbey took a critical four-point run to take the lead 13-11. Mount Olive fault back to tie the set at 15. UMO found their momentum and took the third set and the match 25-19.

The Trojans were led by Dominic Hagerty with 16 kills. Jarrod Ferguson added 31 assists.
