MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The Trojans of the University of Mount Olive's women's lacrosse team won in non-conference action 22-7, against the Wolves of Newberry College, on Wednesday afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The first quarter started with a goal from Chloe Wood of Newberry College within less than a minute of the competition. The Trojans snatched the next draw control and
Morgan Paige scored a goal tying the game 1-1. UMO then took control and took an 8-2 lead against the Wolves. In the second quarter, the Trojans outscored the Wolves 5-3. The goal leaders of the first half were
Bria Hamilton and
Meaghan Michaud with three goals apiece. The Trojans closed the half and were up 13-5.
As the whistle started the third quarter of the game, Paige scored back-to-back goals on a man-up opportunity. Newberry was able to score one goal in the third quarter but fell short 17-6 at the end of the quarter. The fourth quarter flew by as UMO had a 15-goal lead and played on the running clock. The game ended 22-7 in favor of the Trojans.

The key moment is when the Trojans held the Wolves under 10 goals and earned Newberry their second loss of the season.
