MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The Trojans of the University of Mount Olive's women's lacrosse team played the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College on Saturday morning and won 20-2. The Trojans improved their conference record to 3-0.
INSIDE THE SCORE
UMO dominated the first two quarters of the game as the Trojans held the Bobcats scoreless 13-0. The highest scoring Trojan in the first half was
Sam Wehr with three goals.
Ali Davis,
Meaghan Michaud, and
Ellie Fedorowski also added two goals apiece.
The second half of the game started with an opening goal from the Trojans. Lees-McRae were able to get on the board as Nim Castro scored. Shortly after, Bobcat teammate Sarah Hepburn scored their last goal of the game. The Trojans dominated the rest of the game and saw multiple goal scorers hit the back of the cage. The Trojans finished the game winning 20-2, improving their conference record to 3-0.
TROJAN LEADERS
Mount Olive was led by Davis with three goals, one assist, and four draw controls. They were also led by Michaud with three goals, three assists, and three groundballs.
BOBCAT LEADERS
Lees-McRae was led by Castro and Hepburn with one goal each.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was when the Trojans were 10 goals up and initiated the running clock on the Bobcats early in the second quarter of the game.
