MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina- The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team defeated the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College 3-1 on Saturday.This win takes the Trojans to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in conference.
GAME INFORMATION
UMO started strong with an early 5-3 lead to open the first set. The Trojans found their momentum and took a seven-point run to extend the lead to 13-5. The Trojans remained in control for the remainder of the set as they took set one 25-12.
Mount Olive carried their momentum from the first set into set two with a 5-1 lead over the Bobcats. A six-point UMO run extended their lead to 11-2. The Trojans remained in control for the second set as they won 25-15.
Lees-McRae found their momentum as they opened set three with an 8-6 lead over the Trojans. The Two teams were back and forth until a two-point Trojan run gave Mount Olive the lead 18-16. The Bobcats took control of the third set and took the win 25-23.
Mount Olive came out in the fourth set with an early 4-0 lead. The Bobcats could not find an answer for the Trojans as UMO took a four-point run 16-8. The Trojan momentum did not stop there as they took a crucial six-point run 22-9. The deficit was too large for the Bobcats as UMO took set four and the match 25-13.
