CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The No. 17 University of Mount Olive took down Lee University 16-13 on Sunday afternoon in Charlotte, N.C.
GAME INFORMATION
The Trojans took the first shot in the opening quarter as
Meaghan Michaud found the back of the net off a pass from
Meagan Maxwell. Lee answered with 12:56 and tied the game. After
Ali Davis put UMO back in front, Lee pushed home five unanswered goals to take a 6-2 lead.
Morgan Paige stopped the bleeding scoring the final goal of the quarter.
Ali Davis gave UMO their only lead of the contest with 9:56 left in the first quarter, scoring unassisted. The Flames spouted off two unanswered goals and regained the lead 3-2. Following a
Zoe Dougherty score to tie the contest again, Lee scored three goals to end the quarter with a 6-3 advantage.
The second quarter had Mount Olive outscore the Flames 4-to-2 and went into halftime down 8-7.
The third quarter had Lee flip the script and outscore UMO and held a two goal lead heading into the 4th 12-10.
The final quarter was all Mount Olive as Paige started a five goal run for the Trojans.
Margot Coomes (12:42), Michaud (8:22), Maxwell (5:25) and
Kaitlyn Coleman (4:34) all contributed to the run as the Trojans regained and expanded the cushion to 15-12.
The Trojans defense held allowing only one score as Paige put the final goal home taking the 16-13 win.

FLAMES LEADERS
Dariana Blanton scored six goals to lead Lee.
