CENTRAL,South Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team defeated the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University 72-43 on Monday. This win takes the Trojans to 15-2 overall and 13-2 in Conference.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The Warriors took and early lead to start the first quarter 6-2. A Trojan three-pointer for Ayonna Cotton gave UMO the two-point lead 10-8 with 4:56 remaining. Southern Wesleyan answered back regaining the lead 15-16 with a three-pointer. Mount Olive closed out the first quarter with a two-point lead 18-16.
The second quarter saw an early Trojan layup to increase their lead to four 20-16. The warriors could not find an answer for the Trojans as UMO increased their lead to 12 33-21. For the rest of the second quarter Mount Olive remained in control closing out the first half with an 18-point lead 43-25.
The Trojans came out of halftime with the momentum as they increased their lead to 23 with 7:36 remaining in the third quarter. Mount Olive closed out the third quarter with a 30-point lead 61-31.
With the momentum on the side of the Trojans, they pushed their lead to 32 with 4:14 remaining in the contest. The Warriors could not answer to the Trojans as Mount Olive took the 29-point victor 72-43.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Ivanda Hudjakova led the Trojans with 29 points, five rebounds, while Ayonna Cotton took home 14 points.

The Warriors were led by Lonesha Lee with 9 points.
