BRISTOL, Tennessee - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to the Tornado of King University 96-88 Saturday. This loss takes the Trojans to 9-11 overall and 8-8 in Conference.

INSIDE THE SCORE

King started the contest off with a three pointer. Derreco Miller then helped the cause giving the Trojans their first two points with a jump shot 3-2. The Tornado increased their lead to six with 18:14 remaining in the first half 8-2. With 17:43 remaining a Trojan three pointer from Micheal Brown brought UMO within one of the Tornado 8-7. Mount Olive took their first lead of the contest with 16:40 remaining as Alan Treakle hit a three-pointer. The King offense took back their momentum and increased their lead to six with 12:14 remaining 24-18. With 6:19 remaining the Tornado had a 12 point lead 36-24. The Trojans could not find their momentum in the first half as they went into halftime down by seven 45-38.

UMO came out strong in the second half as they took the first two points with a dunk from Miller 45-40. The Tornado lead was decreased to three as Alan Treakle sunk in two Trojan points 45-42. The Tornado controlled the middle part of the second half with a seven point lead over UMO 61-54 with 13:34 remaining. With 10:48 remaining King University increased their lead to 10. The Trojan defense stopped the Tornado as UMO tied the contest at 70 with 8:20 remaining. At the 4:00 minute mark King earned a six point lead 80-74. This lead was too big for the Trojans to come back as King took the eight point victory 96-88. 

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS

Micheal Brown led the Trojans with 32 points, while Alan Treakle took home four rebounds and 23 points.  

TORNADO LEADERS

The Tornado were led by Isaiah Curry with 24 points.
