MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to the Braves of UNC Pembroke 95-66 Monday. This loss takes the Trojans to 9-7 overall and 8-4 in Conference.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The Braves started off strong with a 5-0 lead with 18:48 remaining. UMO reduced the Braves lead to four as Matthias Caver hit a three-pointer with 16:38. With 13:47 remaining a layup from Alan Treakle tied the game at 15. Mount Olive took their first lead with 13:47 remaining 16-15. UNC Pembroke quickly took back their lead and began to pull away from UMO 27-22. The dominating Trojan defense stopped the Braves at 27 as Mount Olive took another three point lead 30-27. After one lead change and a tie the Braves took half number one with a five point lead 44-39.
The first 30 seconds of the second half were quiet until Matthias Caver decreased the Braves lead to three 44-41. With 19:04 remaining Cole Johnson sank a three-pointer tying the contest at 44. A minute later the Braves took control taking an eight point lead with 16:49 remaining. UNC Pembroke began running away with it as their lead jumped to 14 with 13:24 remaining. The momentum was on the side of the Braves for the remainder of the contest. UNC Pembroke took the 29 point victory over the Trojans.

Alan Treakle led the Trojans with 18 points, while Matthias Caver took home 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Braves were led by Jordan Ratliffe with 20 points.
