DUE WEST, South Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to the Flying Fleet of Erskine College 94-87 Saturday. This loss takes the Trojans to 9-6 overall and 8-3 in Conference.
INSIDE THE SCORE
UMO started off the contest with a 3-0 lead with 19:36 remaining in the first half. At the 18:20 mark the Trojans increased their lead to eight 8-0. The Mount Olive defense held off the Flying Fleet scoring until the 16:31 mark, 8-2. Erskine held the Trojans to eight while they took their momentum and took the lead 10-8. After three lead changes with 11:47 remaining the Conference Carolinas teams were tied at 13. The Flying Fleet took the momentum as they pulled ahead by eight 23-15 with 9:36 remaining. UMO could not come within eight of the Flying Fleet for the remainder of the first half. Erskine headed into halftime with a 13 point lead.
Ten seconds into the second half, Cole Johnson cashed in a three-pointer to bring the Trojans within 10 48-38. UMO began to chip away of the Erskine lead coming within seven after a layup from Matthias Caver with 15:09 remaining. The momentum fell to the side of the Flying Fleet as they increased their lead to 12 with 10:40 remaining. The Mount Olive defense could not stop the Erskine offense until the 1:08 mark when UMO came within seven. There was no time left for the Trojans as Erskine took the seven point victory 94-87.

Micheal Brown led the Trojans with 20 points, while Matthias Caver took home 15 points and six rebounds.
FLYING FLEET LEADERS
The Flying Fleet were led by Stephan Thomas with 19 points.
