MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team defeated the Bulldogs of Barton College 85-71 Tuesday. This win takes the Trojans to 9-4 overall and 8-1 in Conference.

INSIDE THE SCORE
The Trojans started strong taking the first two points of the contest from Michael Brown 2-0 with 19:32 remaining. Barton quickly tied it up at 2 all with 18:06 remaining. The 14 minute mark saw the Trojans lead jump to four with a layup from Javian Cannady. The Bulldogs saw their first lead with 12:48 remaining with a two-point lead 18-16. Prior to four lead changes the Trojans went into the second half down by 2, 40-38.
UMO came out into the second half with a layup from Alan Treakle to tie the contest at 40. Barton did not let up as they took a five-point lead 57-52 with 10:59 remaining. The dominating Trojan defense stopped the Bulldogs at 61 and UMO took back their lead of three 64-61 with 7:45 remaining. Mount Olive stayed in control for the remainder of the contest as they took the 14-point victory 85-71.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Alan Treakle led the Trojans with 24 points, while Matthias Caver took home nine rebounds.
BULLDOG LEADERS
The Bulldogs were led by Malik Bryant with 27 points.

The Trojans took advantage of getting points in the paint as they had 42 while the Bulldogs had 32.
