Mount Olive, NC:  The UMO Men's Soccer team took down Shaw University 3-1 in non-conference action Wednesday night at Amon Field.

INSIDE THE SCORE:
The Trojans (6-3-0) opened thr game with the only score of the half in the 10th minute, when Alfie Pope connected on his sixth goal of the season.

The second half had the Trojans score twice in the 53rd minute and the 61st minute. Guilherme Siqueira anf Christian Jaimes scored their first and second goals of the season.

Shaw (2-3-0) was able to find a crack in the Trojan defense in the 83rd minute, but could not add another and fell 3-1

Mount Olive Leaders:
Christian Jamies led UMO with a goal and and an assist. 

Shaw Leaders:
The Bears were led by Wissem Obeid with the only goal for SU.

Key Stat:
The Trojans out shot Shaw 18-4 with only one shot on goal.

Coaches Comments:
"I felt like Shaw came in with great energy and a fight to win. The first 45 minutes they really were the better team. Fortunately our guys responded well in the second half with a couple big goals. Always happy to get the win, but we need to be more consistent moving forward,: said head coach Jason Carlson.

The Trojans are at home on October 2 at 3 pm against North Greenville University.
