Mount Olive, N.C.- The University of Mount Olive Trojans defeated Southern Wesleyan University 4-1 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The opening half had Mount Olive strike fast as Ethan Willie (Mustafa Nadeem) blasted a shot past the Warriors keeper in just the fourth minute of play. Wasting no time at all the Trojans struck for another score 4:23 in the opening half, with Axel Atle (Mustafa Nadeem) finding the back of the net.
Despite riding a high early on, Mount Olive made a miscue on defense allowing a foul in the box giving SWU a penalty kick opportunity. The Warriors converted their attempt and drew the advantage back down to one.
Alfie Pope gave UMO to momentum back in the 27th minute as Atle added an assist to his tally and the Trojans led 3-1 going into halftime.
In the second half, Mustafa Nadeem added a highlight to his already incredible day with a goal in the 77th minute to seal the win for Mount Olive 4-1.
