Box Score WILSON, N.C. - The No. 5 University of Mount Olive baseball team fell in the 2021 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship Final 15-1 Sunday in Wilson, N.C.
GAME INFORMATION
Mount Olive fell behind early as John Michael Faile put North Greenville up 1-0 in the first with a solo home run and added another solo in the third.
NGU unloaded the arsenal in the next few innings shell-shocking the Trojans with five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings pushing their lead to 12-0, after five complete.
The Crusaders went onto score two more runs to extend their lead.
Alan Alonso broke the shutout with a solo blast in the eighth and UMO trailed 14-1.
North Greenville added one final run and took the final score of 15-1 and won the Conference Carolinas Championship.

TROJAN LEADERS
Alan Alonso led the Trojans with one RBI. Kyle Davis (5-1) was pinned with the loss giving up just one run off one hit and struck out one in two innings.
NORTH GREENVILLE LEADERS
Faile collected four RBI to lead the way for the Crusaders.
KEY MOMENT
The opening home run in the first proved to be the only run NGU needed, although the two five-run innings also helped pad the lead.
ON DECK
Mount Olive will now await seeding in the 2021 NCAA DII Southeast Regional, as they currently sit atop the region. The southeast regional will take place May 27-30 at a site to be announced.
