No. 3 Seed Trojan Cruise Past No. 2 Seed Chowan 2-0 In Conference Carolinas Championship Semifinals

FLORANCE, SC – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team defeated the Hawks of Chowan University 2-0 in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship Semifinals in Florance, SC. Jasmine Pinter guided the No. 3 seed Mount Olive (7-3-0) over No. 2 seed Chowan (7-3-0) in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championships scoring two goals leading UMO to the Finals.
 
Game Information 
A six-minute goal from Jasmine Pinter highlighted the first half of play between the Trojans and the Hawks, as goalie Nicole Solicito assisted on the goal from a goal kick. After much back-and-forth action, Mount Olive had three chances to score out of Chowan's one attempt. The Trojans' two shots were attempted but to no avail. The Hawks' goalie, Allison Traub had two left-sided saves. Mount Olive played with high intensity and aggression as they kept the Hawks goalkeeper busy. UMO defense stayed on their toes and only allowed one shot in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, the Hawks had one more opportunity to put a shot on goal, but Trojan's goalkeeper Nicole Solicito captured a save at the bottom center of the net by Chowan's Sabrina Henderson at the 48th-minute mark. UMO proved to be the aggressors and continued to put high pressure as they collected seven shots, compared to Chowan's one. It wasn't until the 85th minute when the Hawks defense surrendered the second goal by Jasmine Pinter with her third goal of the season. The Trojans kept the Hawks on their toes and only allowed one shot for the remainder of the match, winning 2-0 to advance to the Conference Carolinas Championship final.
