MOUNT OLIVE, NORTH CAROLINA- The No. 6 University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team falls to the Crusaders of North Greenville 9-6 in conference action Saturday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C. It was also senior day for for 10 members of the UMO men's lacrosse team who were honored before the game.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The Crusaders wasted no time getting a goal on the scoreboard as Thomas Cecere put one up for NGU at the 12:28 mark. Within :29 seconds Chaz Goodman found the back of the net to tie the game 1-1 with 11:50 still remaining in the first quarter. North Greenville was able to get two more up on the scoreboard in the last eleven minutes of the frame, ending the quarter 3-1.
The second quarter both teams played aggressively offensively and defensively. UMO's offensive didn't have much possession of the ball as they only had four attempts to score but couldn't find the back of the net. The Trojans defense were able to limit the Crusaders to eleven shots, but also weren't able to put one in the net. No one was able to put one up on the scoreboard as the score still reminded 3-1 with the Crusaders still in the lead going into the half.
In the third quarter, the Trojans came back with a little bit of fire scoring the first two goals of the quarter off Brady Elbin and Connor Watson, making the game tied 3-3. The Crusaders put one more up on the board in a man-up situation by Thomas Cecere at the 11:37 mark. UMO found their momentum as they went on a 3-0 run with Blake Tallon and Lucas Shein finding the back of the net to put the Trojans in the lead 6-4 going into the final quarter.
In the final quarter, NUG's Landon Spooner and Austin Zumbado scored one goal each with 9:13 remaining, making the game tied 6-6. The Crusaders offensive got their hot hand and were able to shut down the Trojans for the reminder of the game and went on a 3-0 run to take home the 9-6 victory.

Lucas Shein led the Trojans with two goals. Andrew Avarello had 13 saves.

Thomas Cecere led the Crusaders with four goals.
KEY MOMENT
The game's key moment was in the final quarter when the Crusaders were able to shut down the Trojans offensive leaving them scoreless and going ona a 5-0 run to take home the 9-6 victory.

Mount Olive will return in action on April 7 when the Trojans are back at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex to face Barton College. The first face-off is set for 4 p.m.
