MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Trojans hosted Belmont Abbey Saturday afternoon. Today's match was the last regular season game of the year. The Trojans won, 17-12, and in doing so, won the regular season title and clinched the number one seed in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Championship.
GAME INFORMATION
Starting goaltender for the Trojans,
Ciara Moorman, made three saves to begin the game. A little over a minute after the third save, the Trojans struck first when
Bria Hamilton found the back of the net, putting the Trojans up, 1-0. Three minutes later the Crusaders answered back with two quick goals, taking the lead, 2-1. At the seventeen minute mark,
Jackie Kaderabek scored her first of the day, tying the game at two apiece. The tie would last a quick minute as the Crusaders scored, retaking the lead 3-2. With four minutes left to go, there was a frenzy of goals,
Shaelyn Yermal scored twice, giving the Trojans a 4-3 lead. Angelina Perrone of Belmont Abbey then scored, tying the game at four. The Trojans then scored three unanswered goals to end the first half, and take a 7-4 lead into halftime.
Just thirty seconds into the second half,
Meaghan Michaud scored her second of the day, putting the Trojans up 8-4. After a goal from the Crusaders the Trojans scored the next three goals, extending their lead to 11-5. After a goal from the Crusaders' Angelina Perrone, cutting the deficit down to five, 11-6,
Kaitlyn Coleman answered back with two goals, putting the Trojans up 13-6. The Crusaders, not backing down, scored four unanswered goals, bringing themselves to within three of the lead, 13-10. With a comeback on the fringes, the Trojans put their foot down, scoring four out of the next six goals, going on to win, 17-12.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment came late in the second half. With the Crusaders putting together three goals in a row, building momentum, the Trojans responded by scoring the last four out of six goals, taking the final, 17-12.

Jackie Kaderabek collected two goals, and added three helpers, to finish with five total points.
CRUSADER LEADERS
Kylie Eastman finished with six total points, scoring twice.
UP NEXT
With their win today, Women's Lacrosse clinched the Conference Carolinas regular season title, and the number one seed in the upcoming championship. After finishing first, the Trojans earn a bye into the Semifinal round of the championship, held at North Greenville University. Their next game action will take place Friday, April 23rd, at noon against the winner of the fourth and fifth seeded matchup.
