No. 6 UMO Baseball Falls To No. 26 Catawba 5-3 In Midweek Battle

SALISBURY, N.C. - The No. 6 University of Mount Olive baseball dropped a midweek contest to No. 26 Catawba College in non-conference action in Salisbury, N.C. on Tuesday afternoon. UMO falls to 25-7 overall, while Catawba improves to 25-7.

GAME INFORMATION
The scoring started off early for the visiting Indians of Catawba in the second. Catawba utilized two RBI base hits to drive home a run a piece and took a 2-0 lead after the second. Dusty Baker had the answer for UMO in the fourth with an RBI-single to right, scoring Jack Casbarro.

The Indians were able to have another run score via a wild pitch in the fourth to extend their lead back to two, 3-1. Mount Olive added a pair of runs in the sixth to eventually tie the game, but the Trojans were unable to overcome Catawba regaining the lead as they fell 5-3.

TROJAN LEADERS
Dusty Baker led the team's offense with an RBI off two hits. Justin Koehler (2-2) was pinned with the loss in relief, throwing an inning complete, allowing two runs off two hits and struck out two.

CATAWBA LEADERS
Spiva led the Indians' offense with two RBI.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment came off of one swing in the seventh of the bat from Catawba breaking a 3-3 tie and putting the Indians in front for good 5-3.

ON DECK
Mount Olive will remain on the road for the remainder of the season traveling next to Erskine on April 16 for a four-game series in Due West, S.C.
