#20 Trojans Win at Home Against University of Alabama in Huntsville

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - Women's Lacrosse continued their winning ways, defeating The University of Alabama in Huntsville Saturday afternoon, 11-7. 

GAME INFORMATION
The Trojans came to play as they jumped on the board first within the first minute off a goal from Jackie Kaderabek. Minutes later Kiara Burke scored, giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead. The Chargers scored their first goal of the game, making the score 2-1. Peyton Youngblood would answer back four minutes later, putting the Trojans up by two again, 3-1. Facing a two goal defecit the Chargers then scored three unanswered goals, taking the lead 4-3. Not to be outdone, the Trojans scored three unanswered goals of their own to take a 6-4 lead heading into halftime. The last goal of the half being scored by Nola Wesche.

The second half began with stingy defensive play by both sides. Seven minutes in Shaelyn Yermal broke through for the Trojans, giving them a 7-4 lead. The Trojans scored the first four goals of the second half, the last one coming off the stick of Denae Haeussler, giving the Trojans a 10-4 lead. Eight minute later the Chargers scored, making the score 10-5. Kelly Young of the Trojans scored two minutes later, making the score 11-5. The Chargers attempted a comeback, scoring twice, but ultimately fell 11-7.
