Trojans Fall in Quarterfinal Round of South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Trojans field hockey traveled to Charlotte to take on the number two seeded, Queens University, in the quarterfinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Championship. Mount Olive lost the contest, 6-0.

GAME INFORMATION
Goaltender Railyn King faced the first shot of the game, turning it away, getting the action started less than a minute into the game. Six minutes into the first quarter, the Royals struck first, making the score 1-0. They quickly followed this up by scoring another goal, extending their lead to 2-0. The next nine minutes were a defensive battle as no shots found their way on goal. Heading into the second quarter 2-0, Queens. The defensive battle continued, as there wasn't a registered shot in the second quarter. Preserving the Royals' two goal lead heading into halftime.

McKenzie Conroy launched a shot on goal four minutes into the third quarter for the Trojans but was turned away. King followed up by stopping two shots on goal herself. Minutes later Queens struck again, finding the back of the net and increasing their lead to 3-0, through the third quarter. Queens held Mount Olive without a shot in the fourth quarter, while adding three goals. Taking the final, 6-0.

The key moment came in the third quarter when Queens added a goal increasing their lead to 3-0.
