MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The No. 8 University of Mount Olive baseball cruised past Coker University in non-conference action at Scarborough Field on Tuesday afternoon. UMO improves to 20-6 overall, while Coker goes to 10-15.
GAME INFORMATION
Mount Olive had to defend early as they came into the bottom of the first already down 1-0.
The Trojans proceeded to however blast home seven runs as the wheels of the Coker bus fell off before they even got going as the Cobras needed three pitchers to get through the inning as UMO led 7-1 The half inning saw four walks and three hit-by-pitches.
Coker was able to draw the deficit down to 9-3 in the fourth, however Mount Olive two more runs over the fourth and fifth. Ultimately the Cobras scratched across one more run in the seventh, but that was all the managed as UMO closed the game out in the ninth and took the 11-4 win.
TROJAN LEADERS
Stephen Baughan led the team's offense with five RBI. Kyle Davis (2-0) earned the win in relief allowing two runs off three hits and struck out two.
COKER LEADERS
Lybrand collected two RBI to lead the way for the Cobras.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment came in the first when UMO unloaded for seven runs taking all of the momentum for the game.

Mount Olive will hit the diamond again when they host Emmanuel College in a four-game series at Scarborough Field this weekend.
