Game Information
Lees-McRae came out of the gate with intensity, looking to score early with a corner kick against the Trojans. UMO had five scoring opportunities in the first 22 minutes of the contest. Within just six minutes Riley Baker was able to find the back of the net giving the Trojans their first point on the board with 15 minutes left to go in the game. Both teams continued to play aggressively and were successful in keeping each other out of the net for the reminder of the half as the Trojans took the lead 1-0 to end the first half.
Going into the second half, Lees-McRae kept the high defensive pressure on the Trojans in hopes of capitalizing on a defensive mistake by UMO. Mount Olive kept their composure, moving the ball throughout the field, looking to extend their lead beyond one goal. The Trojans continued to drive up the field with pace but remained conscious of the time ticking down while being in the lead. Both the Trojans and the Bobcats would create an equal amount of scoring opportunities in the second half, but neither was able to find the back of the net.
