Goldsboro, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive Trojans were swept up by the King Tornado after just over 100 minutes of play, losing 1-0 in double overtime in their first conference match-up Monday afternoon at The Bryan Multi-Sport Complex in Goldsboro, NC.
INSIDE THE SCORE
Both teams battled each other and the elements, as extensive rain and wind began at the first whistle of the game. Mount Olive outshot King in the first half, 6-2,
The second half was much of the same story as UMO had more scoring chances, 7-5, but were unable to find the go-ahead score.
Dalton Gammon proved to be an asset to the King Tornado with four saves and a clean sheet for the match. The teams would remain deadlocked at 0-0going into overtime. King would upset Mount Olive scoring the golden goal, within just 27 seconds of the second overtime.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Alfie Pope with three shots, as well as Ivan Ponce, Rio Mellow, and Francisco Macedo with two shots each.
KING LEADERS
The Tornado were led by Ben Delisle who took fiveshots and scored the lone goal of the match, a header which was assisted by Ruben Laureano.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the match was when King Forward, Ben Delisle scored the first and only goal of the game in the first 27 seconds of the second overtime.

Mount Olive will return to action on February 28when the Trojans are on the road to face Southern Wesleyan University. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
