WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to the Seahawks of UNC Wilmington 85-55 in an exhibition contest on Wednesday.
INSIDE THE SCORE
UMO grabbed the game's first three points with a three-pointer from Cole Johnson 3-0 with 18:34 remaining in the half. The Trojan offense took a 5-0 lead with a layup from Micheal Brown with 18:08 remaining. The Seahawks answered by tying up the contest at seven with 16:05 remaining. Mount Olive stayed within seven of the Seahawks until 5:52 mark when they trailed 36-28. UMO was unable to close the gap as the Trojans headed into halftime down by 13, 45-32.
In the second half, Mount Olive came out with energy not allowing a Seahawks run until UNC Wilmington stopped them with 16:12 remaining. Down by 21, a jump shot from Ryan Archey brought the Trojans within 19 59-40. The Seahawks remained in control for the remainder of the contest and took the 30 point victory 85-55.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Michael Brown led the Trojans with 10 points, while Javian Cannady took home seven rebounds.
SEAHAWKS LEADERS
The Seahawks were led by Trazarien White with 21 points.
KEY STAT
The Seahawks took advantage of their points off turnovers with 20, and the Trojans had 11.
