BANNER ELK, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team defeated the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College 92-75 on Tuesday. This win takes the Trojans to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in Conference.
INSIDE THE SCORE
UMO came out strong in the first half by gaining an eight-point lead of 8-0 with 17:54 remaining in the half. The Bobcats answered back by coming within two points of the Trojans 8-6 with 16:20 remaining. Mount Olive stayed in control for the remainder of the half, not allowing the Bobcats within five. The Trojans headed into halftime with a 17-point lead, 49-32.
Mount Olive continued to feed of their momentum from the opening half, as a three-pointer from Derreco Miller increased the UMO lead to 20 points, 52-32. The dominating Trojan offense never took their foot off the gas as they took a 17-point victory over Lees-McRae 92-75.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Cole Johnson led the Trojans with 18 points and six rebounds, while Matthias Caver took home seven rebounds.
BOBCATS LEADERS
The Bobcats were led by London England with 13 points.
