MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.-- The University of Mount Olive defeated the Flying Fleet of Erskine College 3-1 in Conference Carolinas action on Friday. This win takes the Trojans to 12-13 overall and 7-8 in conference.
1st Set
UMO had a slow start as the Flying fleet took a 5-3 lead. Mount Olive took a four-point run with a kill from Ashlyn Stone 7-5. The two Conference Carolinas teams were back and fourth until the Trojans took a five-point run with a kill from Amara Eziakonwa 18-15. The remainder of the set was one-sided as the Trojans took set one 25-20.
2nd Set
Mount Olive again started off slow falling 6-4. A four-point run with dominating Trojan offense brought UMO the lead 8-6. After battling back and fourth the Flying Fleet took four-straight points 15-14. The Trojans fought back hard in the end of the set but not before Erskine took set two 27-25.
3rd Set
Mount Olive took a strong 4-1 lead over the Flying Fleet to open up set three 4-1. The dominating Trojan offense went on a four-point run with assists from Nicholle Yeo 12-8. Going point for point all throughout the middle of the set, the Trojans took control winning set three 25-18.
4th Set
Mount Olive started off strong taking the first three points of the game with a kill from Ashlyn Stone 3-0. The Flying Fleet took the next eight out of 11 points to lead 7-5. The Trojans came back strong with incredible offense led by Nicholle Yeo 12-10. UMO held the momentum for the remainder of the set winning set four and the match 25-19.

Ashlyn Stone led the Trojans with 14 kills.
Madison Goodman had 25 assists and Morgan Prots had 28 digs.

Megan Thees led the Flying Fleet with 29 digs.
