MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.-- The University of Mount Olive defeated the Lions of Emmanuel College 3-1 in Conference Carolinas action on Senior Day. This win takes the Trojans to 13-13 overall and 8-8 in conference. Prior to the contest seniors Nicholle Yeo, Dejare Cumberbatch, Olivia Olsen, and Courtney Garris were honored for their careers at UMO
1st Set
UMO had a slow start as the Lions took a 13-6 lead. Mount Olive took a two-point run with a kill from Amara Eziakinwa 13-8. The momentum stayed with the Lions for the remainder of the set as they took set one 25-13.
2nd Set
Mount Olive again started off strong with an 11-7 lead with dominating offense led by Madison Goodman. After battling back-and-fourth, the Lions could not hold off the Trojans as they took set 2 25-22.
3rd Set
Mount Olive took a strong 2-0 lead over the Lions to open up set three. The dominating Trojan offense went on a five-point run with two kills from Karoline Cox and a kill from Ele'sia Williams14-8. Emmanuel fought back with a five-point run until they were stopped by Ele'sia Williams. The Trojans took set four, 25-22.
4th Set
Mount Olive started off slow falling down 5-2. A six-point Trojan run gave Mount Olive the lead 8-5. A kill from UMO's Williams tied the game at 12-12. UMO held the momentum for the remainder of the set winning set four and the match 25-18.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Amara Eziakonwa led the Trojans with 20 kills.
Madison Goodman had 25 assists and Morgan Prots had 30 digs.
LIONS LEADER
Gabrielle McGlamery led the Lions with 35 assists.
