Women's Volleyball Downs Southern Wesleyan

Mount Olive, N.C.--  The University of Mount Olive down the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University 3-0 in Conference Carolinas action on Friday. This win takes the Trojans to 6-10 overall and 1-5 in conference.

1st Set
UMO started off strong to open up the match taking a 3-1 lead. The Warriors added a few points to their score before the dominating Trojan offense took over. After the Trojans gained their momentum the Trojans took set one 25-10.

2nd Set
The Trojans opened set two with a 2-0 lead over the Warriors with a kill from Alyssa Jackson. UMO pushed through the middle of the set with a ten point lead 18-8. Not much was heard from the Warriors as the Trojans took set two 25-12.

3rd Set
UMO came out in the 3rd set with a massive 5-0 lead with a kill from Makenzie Holzer. The Warriors fought back with a five-point run to tie the game at 11. A kill from Starr Sergent brought the momentum back to the Trojan side of the net as Ashlyn Stone and Amara Eziakonwa cashed in a kill each 14-14. A dominating Trojan offense took a seven point lead led by Madison Goodman at 21-16. The Warriors could not defend the Mount Olive offense as the Trojans took set three and the match 25-18.
 

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Amara Eziakonwa led the Trojans with 10 kills. 
Madison Goodman had 16 assists and Morgan Prots had 14 digs. 

WARRIORS LEADERS
Jesse Soles led Southern Wesleyan with 25 digs.
