MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.--  The University of Mount Olive defeated the Patriots of Francis Marion 3-0 in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday. This win takes the Trojans to 10-13 overall and 5-8 in conference.

1st Set
The Patriots started off with a 2-0 lead over the Trojans. UMO answered with a three point run with two kills from Ashlyn Stone 3-2. The Patriots then took a five point run with no answer from the Trojans. The Trojans were down by two until they took a three point run with two kills from Amara Eziakonwa 19-19. The Patriots could not find a answer for the Trojans as they took another five point run 24-21. A patriots error gave the Trojans the set as they won 25-23.

2nd Set 
Mount Olive started off strong as they took a 2-0 advantage with a kill from Ashlyn Stone. A five point run for the Trojans brought them a six point lead 16-10. Francis Marion could not stop the Trojan offense as UMO took set two 25-17.

3rd Set
UMO had all the momentum as they took a 5-1 lead over the Patriots. A Trojan kill from Amara Eziakonwa brought UMO up by seven 21-14. After a four point run by Francis Marion the Trojans closed out the set and the match 25-20.

Coaches Comments
"I've been saying to the girls after every competitive and close match we've played that we're playing well and we just need to stay with the process and then we'll start to have the results to match our play. Well we got one tonight. Want 4 more though headed into the tournament and so do the girls." -says Head Coach Emma Celentano.
 

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Ele'sia Williams led the Trojans with 15 kills. 
Nicole Yeo had 21 assists and Morgan Prots had 15 digs. 

PATRIOTS LEADER
Naina Ivanova led the Patriots with 28 assist.
