UMO Women's Soccer Draws 2-2 Against North Greenville

Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team took a 2-2 draw with Conference Carolinas foe North Greenville University, Saturday afternoon at Amon Field. 
 
Game Information
Mount Olive (6-0-2, 3-0-1) and North Greenville (4-3-3, 3-1-1) were not able to make much of an effort at a scoring chance in the opening period as NGU out shot UMO 5-4, but the score remained 0-0 at the break.

In the second the Crusaders broke the tie in the 48th minute and just 2:20 later added a second goal. with 20 minutes left in the contest Ashley Kerekes scored her first goal of her career off a Tianna Hill pass. 

Makenna Copley added her first UMO career goal 7:30 later and the game was once again tied. UMO suffered a loss when a Trojan was sent off after receiving a second yellow and for the remainder of the match Mount Olive was a man down. NGU was the only team to record a shot for the rest of the second and extra time was needed.

There was next to no offense in both overtimes as combined the Trojans and Crusaders mustered three shots and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Kerekes and Copley with the only scores for UMO.

Crusader Leaders
North Greenville was led by Shelby Shepherd with two shots and a goal.

Key Stat
Both teams combined only had one offside call for the entire match.
