Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team defeated Francis Marion University 8-1 in Conference Carolinas action, Tuesday afternoon at Amon Field.
Game Information
Mount Olive (11-0-2, 8-0-1) opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the match as Nya Baccelli blasted a shot into the back of the net. Francis Marion (2-12-0, 2-7-0) surrendered the second goal of the game in the 26th minute when Tianna Hill found Baccelli for her second.
UMO went onto score twice more (Olivia Womack 38:42, Delia Allwood 39:52) and took a healthy 4-0 lead into the break.
Baccelli recorded her hat trick in the 59th minute and then 11 minutes later added herself to the record books. In the 70th minute the freshman scored her fourth goal of the match and moved into second-place all-time for goals scored in a match.
The Trojans sandwiched two more goals around a Patriots score in the 83rd minute and cruised to an 8-1 victory.
