Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team defeated Lees-McRae College 3-2 in Conference Carolinas action, Saturday afternoon at Amon Field. Prior to the match, Taylor Lewis, Emma Campbell, Shaunalee Govia, Jordyn Davis, Kaylee Mariani, Kristin Ferriman, Erica Boswell, and Amanda Allen were honored for senior day.
Game Information
Mount Olive (10-0-2, 7-0-1) opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the match as MaKenna Copley scored off a double assist from Shaunalee Govia and Samantha Hamrick. Lees-McRae (9-3-0, 6-2-0) surrendered the second goal of the game in the 36th minute when Jordyn Davis highlighted her senior day with an assist to Delia Allwood.
The Trojans took the 2-0 advantage into the break.
Tianna Hill gave the Trojans a 3-0 advantage ten minutes into the second half and it appeared UMO was cruising to a shutout victory.
LMC came back late with two scores in the 63rd and 89th minutes, but the Mount Olive defense did not allow another shot and held onto the win.
