Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team defeated Chowan University 3-0 in Conference Carolinas action, Saturday afternoon at Amon Field.
Game Information
Mount Olive (9-0-2, 6-0-1) and Chowan (2-9-0, 2-6-0) were quite for the most part in the opening minutes of the first period. UMO pushed across three shots, two on target, in the first 10:37. On a Trojans corner, Shaunalee Govia found Jaslyn Gott for the first goal of the match.
Less than five minutes later, Makenna Copley added the second goal for UMO off a shot by Ashley Kerekes.
Close to 15 minutes passed without much action, until Mount Olive struck once more in the 35th minute. Jaslyn Gott was able to assist on a Trojan goal this go around as Erica Boswell struck for goal off Gott's shot, and Mount Olive went up 3-0.
The half ended with just one shot taken by Chowan and the Trojans took a 3-0 lead into the break.
Chowan had some chances in the second period, but were out shot 11-to-7, and not able to make the contest much of a match.

Mount Olive was led by Gott scoring the winning goal for the Trojans, as well as assisting in one score.
Hawk Leaders
Chowan was led by Carolina Lucci with five shots, one on goal.

Mount Olive had complete control of the match offensively out shooting Chowan 21-10, with only four shots on target.
