Box Score 2 WILSON, North Carolina - The No. 7 University of Mount Olive baseball team fell to Barton College in the series finale doubleheader Saturday afternoon 4-2, 6-5 at Nixon Field in Wilson, N.C. UMO falls to 17-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference, while Barton improves to 11-12, 3-6.
INSIDE THE SCORE GAME 1
Mount Olive took the opening lead on a Matt Stokes RBI-single up the middle in the top of the fourth to break a scoreless ballgame.
Joe Mason then added another run for the Trojans in the fifth in what proved to be their final scoring inning.
Barton went onto take the lead in the fifth on two RBI base hits and led 3-2. A final insurance run sealed the win in the sixth and the Bulldogs took the game one victory 4-2.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Hunter Stevens (4-1) got the loss for the Trojans going five and two-thirds allowing four runs off six hits and struck out a pair. Matt Stokes and Joe Mason tied for the team lead in hits and RBI as both went 2-for-3 and had an RBI.
BARTON LEADERS
The Bulldogs were led by Noah Almond who had a team-high two RBI.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game came in the fifth when Barton took the lead for the first and final time as UMO could never come back.

Mount Olive once again scored the game's first run, however, this time was able to do so in the first when mason was able to drive in a run. The Trojans tacked on one more and took a 2-0 lead into the bottom.
BC answered with a run in the bottom half, but was met by three more runs by UMO over the third and seventh innings and saw the Trojans hold a 5-1 advantage.
The Bulldogs did not go down without a fight as they scored a pair of runs in the eighth and then completed the comeback in the bottom of the ninth and walked-off following a throwing error by UMO and took game two 6-5.
MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Jake Isbell (2-1) got pinned with the loss in relief as he was unable to record an out and allowed three runs, two earned, to score. Dusty Baker led the Trojans with a pair of RBI to go along with a 1-for-4 performance.
BARTON LEADERS
The Bulldogs were led by Andres Machado who had a team-high two RBI.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game came in the ninth when Barton completed the comeback and walked off on a UMO error.
