BELMONT, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team fell to No. 10 Belmont Abbey College 64-50 in Conference Carolinas action Tuesday Night. Mount Olive falls to 18-8 overall and 15-7 in the conference, while Belmont Abbey Improves to 26-2, 21-1. Following the loss, Mount Olive secured the No. 5 seed in the Conference Carolinas Championship starting in March.

INSIDE THE SCORE
Mount Olive started off the game with a quick four points and began the contest on a 7-2 run. The Crusaders were behind for much of the quarter until BAC struck for a 10-3 run to end the first and took a 16-13 lead.

The second quarter was a scoring outburst for Belmont Abbey as the Trojans were outscored 18-to-9 and trailed 34-22 going into halftime. 

The third frame was a stalemate as both teams scored 16 points and BAC held a 50-38 lead heading into the final quarter.

The deficit grew to as large as 18 in the fourth quarter but the lead would not be overcome as the Trojans fell 64-50.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Azariah Fields with 19 points. Hope Toliver also had a double-digit scoring night with 16 points.

The Crusaders were led by Brittany Autry with 19 points and 10 rebounds

KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was in the second quarter when Belmont Abbey outscored UMO 18-to-9 to take the lead for the remainder of the game.

Mount Olive has secured the No. 5 seed in the Conference Carolinas Championship and will take on No. 4 seed Limestone in Gaffney, S.C. on Tuesday, March 3 at a time TBD.
