Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Georgia - The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team were defeated by the Lions of Emmanuel College 54-49 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon. UMO falls to 15-5 overall and 12-4 in conference, while Emmanuel improves to 15-6, 12-3.
INSIDE THE SCORE
Mount Olive scored the first points of the contest but Emmanuel quickly tied the game at the 7:19 mark. UMO responded with a short 9-to-3 run and lead by six. The small advantage carried the Trojans throughout the remainder of the quarter and Mount Olive took a 17-10 lead into the second.
In the second quarter, Emmanuel scored first on a Breanna Locke layup, but the Trojans pushed back with an 8-0 run to jump ahead by double digits for the first time, 25-12 with under five to play. The two squads exchanged buckets for the remainder of the quarter, but UMO held a 12 point 30-18 lead headed into halftime.
The third quarter was all Emmanuel for a short spurt as with 6:38 on the clock the Lions sparked a seven-point unanswered streak that cut the Trojan advantage down to three at 32-29. Mount Olive composed itself and pushed the margin back to nine and took the final points of the quarter to hold a 42-32 lead.
The final quarter took Mount Olive's double-digit lead down to six with 5:57 left in the game and following a made Trojan free-throw Emmanuel was able to cut it to its smallest at that point four, 45-41 with just under four to play. After an Ivanda Hudajakova layup took the lead back to six, Emmanuel made a jump shot and then the game got very interesting. A Trojan foul put EC on the line but a costly technical foul was also issued at the same time of the shooting foul giving the Lions four free-throws. They made all four and tied the game at 47 with 40 seconds left in the game. UMO went onto surrender a grand total of a 10-to-2 run in the final 1:43 of the game to give Emmanuel the 54-49 win on the road.

The Trojans were led by Jada Bacchus with 13 points. Makayla Nicholas also had a double-digit scoring performance with 12 points.
EMMANUEL LEADERS
The Lions were led by Breanna Locke with a team-high 23 points.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game came in the final 1:43 of the game when Emmanuel went on a 10-to-2 run en route to the 54-49 win on the road.
