MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – Senior Johanna Andersson finished tied for first as the University of Mount Olive took second at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Panthers Run Golf Links.
Tournament Information
The Trojans, who were in a tie for first after the first round, dropped one spot to finish second with a 302-303=605 team score. Mount Olive's tournament total of 605 is the second-lowest in school history, seven off tying the record. UMO's team of Johanna Andersson, Linn Andersson, Lindsey Burton, and Linn Bergman all placed inside the top-15. Johanna Andersson and Linn Andersson were both named to the all-tournament team after finishing in the top-five.
Trojan Leaders
J. Andersson after finishing in a tie for first went into a playoff where the senior was just edged out and missed the individual trophy. Andersson after hitting three over on the front nine, hit one-under forcing the play-off for individual honors. Linn Andersson after getting a birdie on her opening hole ended the final round three over. Burton tapped in two birdies on the day en route to her top-10 finish concluding the tournament seventh and Bergman shot a 76 to round out the Trojans' card as she finished 15th.
