Box Score 2 GREENWOOD, S.C. --- In the series finale, the No. 7 University of Mount Olive baseball team split a doubleheader from Lander University on Saturday at Donly Field in Greenwood, S.C.

GAME ONE
- Mount Olive got on the boards first, but not until the third inning as JT Stone's RBI-single to right drove in Nate Estes and Trae Sweeting to give UMO a 2-0 lead.
- Despite Lander putting four runs across in the bottom in fourth the Trojans bounced back.
- UMO put a pair of runs on the board in the fifth and sixth. In the fifth Stone's solo home run tied the game at four and Aaron Hedgepeth's RBI-double pushed Mount Olive back in front 5-4.
- The other pair of runs for the visitors came in on a pair of groundouts and Mount Olive held a 7-4 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth.
- Lander continued to fight back as over the next two innings they scored four more runs to take the lead back 8-7.
- Mount Olive took the lead in the top of the eighth off the bat of Stone as he belted his second home run of the day, a two-run blast, to give UMO a 9-8 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth.
- The Bearcats had a big inning as three runs came home to push Lander in front for good.
GAME TWO
- Game two started the same way for the Trojans as Jose Lopez drove in Jordan Huntley on an RBI-groundout to score the game's first run in the top of the third.
- Mount Olive did not score again until the fifth inning, however, the Trojans did score in bunches.
- UMO saw RBI from Trae Sweeting and Nate Estes in the inning and the Trojans pushed home four runs.
- In the final frame, Mount Olive saw five more runs come home as JT Stone scored two on an RBI-single and Justin Carroll cleared the bases with a home run to give push the lead to 10-0.
- Lander did manage to plate one run in the bottom of the seventh on a solo home run but were shut down by Mount Olive as the game ended in the 10-1 final.
KEY STATS GAME 1
- Conrado Skepple (0-1) was credited with the loss in game one going two and a third allowing four runs, three earned, off three hits with a walk and a strikeout.
- JT Stone led the Trojans going 3-for-5 from the plate with six RBI, two home runs, and two runs scored.
KEY STATS GAME 2
- Ethan Horne (1-0) picked up the win in game two in relief pitching two innings, striking out three, and not allowing a hit.
- Carroll led the offense with a three-RBI performance.
