University of Mount Olive defeated Converse College 7-2 at the John Neil Walker Tennis Center Friday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C. The Trojans took #1 & #2 singles and doubles.

Stella DiMichele and Alejandra Hernandez won in straight sets in #1 doubles 8-0 to start off the day for Mount Olive (4-5). Paulina Delgado and Jennifer Byrd then went on to win #2 doubles 8-2. DiMichele, Hernandez, and Delgado all picked up wins in their respective singles matches.

Trojans fell in #3 doubles 8-2 and in #4 singles. However in #4 Singles Mulan Bartz forced a tie-breaking third set. The set ended at a final score of 10-7, However Mount Olive rallied in #5 & #6 singles. Nicole La Chappelle won #6 singles 6-0, 6-0 just before Mariana Gamboa took the win in #5 singles 6-4, 6-3.

Mount Olive's match against Limestone originally scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday has been postponed to a day to be announced.
